Am I in the Wrong Nest?

An emphatic story about (found) family, adoption, and identity.
Odd doesn’t really fit in with his family: he’s much bigger than his robin siblings, his feathers are not as colourful, and when he tries to sing, he sounds very differently. He’s just … odd. While the robins don’t mind at all and love him nevertheless, Odd can’t shake the feeling that he doesn’t fit in. To find out who he is and where he came from, Odd embarks on a journey that makes him realise that the family he left behind was the one he belonged to all along …

Author

Andrea Hensgen grew up in a village that was so small it didn’t even have a kindergarten – not to speak of a sports club or a piano teacher. Therefore she spent a lot of time outdoors with her friends, read all the books in the small public library and started to write her own stories. Until this day, that’s what she prefers doing: reading and writing.,Andrea Hensgen grew up in a very small village at the French/Luxembourgish border. Her childhood spent between fields and forests, barns and stables, quirky farmers and eccentric neighbours is still the source she draws her joy for telling stories from. She has received multiple awards and scholarships for her work in several European countries.

Illustrator

Emma Latham has been drawing since she could hold a pencil. As a small child, if there was no paper around to doodle on she would happily draw on furniture. Today she lives in Nottingham, UK with her resident musician and mad scientist partner as well as her two feline overlords. Her long standing habit of getting lost in nature whilst stalking local wildlife inspires her to write and illustrate stories featuring funny animals.
